Teachers are here to serve students and amplify their voices through collaboration, service-learning, and transformative conversations. These books will be given to our students during the pandemic for us to read them together as a class and discuss the multitude of inequities in our nation AND what we can do about it. These books are chosen because they have accessible language, images and content. As educators, we can use our influence to create a space virtually and physically for discussions that center these topics and address the inequities in our nation. As we are a middle school with only 70 students these books will be read by all as a foundation of their discussions, connections and service learning projects.

About my class
