Since 34% of our population have Individualized Education Plans and many more are struggling readers having these models will allow students to utilize the visual skills they require for understanding. Many students at my school tend to be reluctant learners because they can not visualize what they are reading about. Any tool that we can provide to encourage our students to become more resilient and encourages them to engage with content is well worth the cost. Students are expected to understand over 2500 content-specific vocabulary words for this Biology Keystone exam. As of the 2018-2019 school year, only 12% of the students at my school scored proficient or advanced on their Biology Keystone Exam. It is imperative that students engage with vocabulary in context so that they can remember and differentiate between words.
