I am incorporating a play-based curriculum in my classroom where my students can engage in rigorous academic work through purposeful play. My kindergartners show more enthusiasm towards learning when they are given hands-on experiences to explore and learn. Kids are drawn to activities and centers that they can manipulate. I am asking for a light table to support students' learning in kindergarten. Providing kids with the opportunity to learn through exploration, play, and discovery will benefit them academically in a developmentally appropriate way. The light table will create a space for students to practice their letters, numbers, shapes, words, and much more. They will be able to use the plastic letters to work on spelling and creating words. They can use other manipulatives and numbers to show and create different amounts to practice their math skills. The students will be able to have conversations and develop language skills as well as develop peer interactions while working at the light table. The light table is also a great resource to help students who are struggling with fine motor skills. My students will enjoy the various items that can be changed out to help make learning more exciting and hands-on.
