Our science department discovered that Flinn Scientific was offering free downloadable experiments that our students can try with common or easily obtainable materials. We’ve posted a link in our Google Classrooms and encouraged them to try them out, just for fun. It isn’t something we feel like we can require, given the circumstances. However, what I would love to be able to do is reward my students who choose to invest time and energy into trying out one or more of the experiments provided by Flinn Scientific and who provide evidence in the form of pictures and writing about what they did and what they learned from each. Each experimental endeavor would represent a raffle ticket, with one prize per student. If I wind up with more prizes than student participants, the same opportunities will be extended to some of the other students at our school with a population that exceeds one thousand. Students have two weeks left to step up and throw down some fruitful at-home science. 100% of donated Fun Science prizes will go to students at a 100% Free Meal School who go the extra mile to extend their own learning in science. If there's a time to promote science, isn't now a good time? Special thanks to Flinn Scientific. You are awesome!
