Children need to move. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean, or stand which is much needed during the school day. It helps students remain focused and alert during instruction, which in turn helps students learn better. As an educator, I try to include many engaging activities throughout the day, but flexible seating helps to facilitate an engaging classroom environment at all times. I've personally seen the tremendous value and change that flexible seating can have on the classroom environment and student learning; and I'm determined to create that for my students. By providing students with a variety of flexible seating options allows students to explore what seating works best for them.
