After over a year spent apart, our students need an opportunity to come back to school with a whole-school project that illustrates the value of their individualism. Each classroom will receive a copy of the book "Only One You" by Linda Kranz about a little fish learning how his gifts will make the world a better place. Students and teachers can spend time talking about their gifts and the effect they have on others. After reading, students and staff will all have the opportunity to come together to paint a rock using their own style and creativity. The rocks will be collected and displayed in a way that will not only make our school more inviting, but more importantly will be a school beautification project in which we all come together for everyone to see and enjoy.
Social-emotional health is an important part of the educational process and after a year of learning from home, hybrid classes, and separation we need to rebuild our sense of community and unity as we return to school in a few weeks. Please help us return to "normal" and heal together, so we can focus on making more academic strides than ever.
