We'll use these games, cards, and dice to strengthen our students' skills in reading and math. Sight words, numbers, letters, math facts, and more will be added to familiar childhood games in order to incorporate fun into learning. Through PLAY, students will learn important basic skills that will lead them to be readers and mathematicians! Students won't even know how much they are learning because they will be so engaged in their own FUN! For example, after reading a sight word, a student can shoot as many baskets as there are letters in the word with the Hot Shots Basketball Game. With the large playing cards, students can play war or salute the captain. Letters can be added to the bottom of the fish in the Let's Go Fishing Game so students can practice recognizing letters or producing letter sounds. These are just a few examples of how academics are incorporated into game format!
