Offering my kindergartners several different options for seating in the classroom will help them learn. Most 5- and 6-year-old children don't have a very long attention span. Allowing them many different seating options with different heights, textures, and materials will allow them to stay engaged longer than they would while sitting at a traditional desk for eight hours every day. This will help them see that school is fun and exciting. Studies have shown that using flexible seating in the classroom goes a long way in keeping students engaged and focused. I also added some imaginary play items which will allow students to keep their imaginations alive while learning in the classroom. Kindergartners learn through play. This is their mode of learning, so let's provide as many opportunities to do this as possible!
