Our students need to understand the importance and impact of compassion. A classroom set of this book gives them a personal perspective and will, hopefully, inspire them. We will have a classroom discussion, followed by the core assignment. They will create a community project of their choice, for example, a video (PSA) or school-wide program that employs compassion for other students. I would like to use it during the mental health and/or care portions of the course in order to give them a personal account of the importance of compassion.
