Funding of this project would help me to help students who suffer with emotional and physical regulation. We do not have the ability to give students (big and small) the ability to move and regulate themselves in school. This project will help students return to school with options after so many months at home. In the support staff room, children will have the ability to try sensory seating comfortably and move while learning to manage their stress and emotions. These seats can then be placed in their classrooms when needed to increase their focus and regulation. My less-verbal students will use the rug to help identify their feelings. We will practice coping skills and work towards social-emotional wellness. I look forward to creating a space where all students can feel at home!
