Children need to be engaged in active play, at any age, especially in Kindergarten where students are just beginning to learn how to socialize and be in school. I want to provide my students with play materials that will not only be fun and engaging, but will also encourage group or partner play, encourage and develop communication, cognitive, and social emotional skills. The skills that my students, and all children, learn from play doesn't end there. In play, children can learn how to take turns negotiate, practice self control, discover interests, and even practice situations they have been in or may be in eventually (such as going to a restaurant). These puppets, train and other materials will be beneficial in my students developing all of these skills and more!
