A wonderful way to learn is through hands-on experiences. If those experiences bring you close to the natural world you have a huge added bonus. Not just learning about, but actually growing healthy food will benefit my students in many ways. My students will enjoy the added color, light, and joy the plants will add to their indoor classroom environment. Using the hydroponic systems, my students will learn about plant life cycles, healthy food choices, ecosystems, and the environment around them. The students will also reap the rewards of their newly found “Green Thumbs” as they get to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
