Scholastic Magazines are aligned with Science and Social standards. Students will become fluent readers when they are reading text that sparks their interests. Vocabulary development, fluency, and Informational text structure are skills that are supported in the Scholastic Magazines. Reading these articles will reinforce the skills I'm teaching throughout the day. More importantly, it will expose my students to other kids, places, and cultures outside of their own world. Reading about current events and seeing other kids their age in these magazines help them make personal connections in their own lives.
