With the funding of this project, my students will be able to read the same novel as a class. Owning the novel allows students the opportunity to write and highlight in the novel. Students can locate and identify figurative language, main idea, supporting details, as well as vocabulary development. With each skill being taught students are able to document their findings or thoughts by writing in the novel. This is a great reading strategy supporting reading development. Help me empower students' reading development with the ability to write in their own novel. Taking notes, and documenting thoughts as you read also supports writing development. This is a skill that can be taken and developed throughout a student's school career.
