Using a while board is part of our daily routine in my classroom. Every day before math my students know that they need to being 3 things with them to the lesson: their boards, markers, and erasers. These tools are a vital part of the functionality of the lesson, allowing students to stay on task, try problems out for themselves, and allowing for me to see where my student's understanding of the concept is. What I noticed that has caused many distractions, is when markers go dry and students have to get up mid lesson, when students have lost their erasers and now have to share with a neighboring student, or when the board that they are using has gotten damaged in some way (edges chipped or the top layer had been partially peeled off). When first coming into my classroom (January 2020) I realized that the majority, if not all, of the personal boards are damaged in some way and practically all of the markers that were left behind were dry. So, by donating to this, you will be allowing for my students to not have to interrupt the lesson, be able to focus on the material that is being presented to them, and be able to increase their learning.
