I take pride in the fact that my classroom is one where students have choice and students have a voice! As I prepare to welcome 32 students into my classroom for the coming year, I am looking for ways to offer them even more flexibility in how and where they learn best! I believe that by offering a wide variety of flexible seating options, students will build camaraderie and community with one another while also feeling empowered and engaged in their own learning! I envision small groups choosing to work at the tall table during reading. I can see partners converting the benches into tabletops as they ready their Makerspace projects. I imagine students on wobble stools who just need to get their wiggles out. And I imagine groups moving smoothly and easily around the room with their mobile carts of supplies. It's truly a vision that I cannot WAIT to see come to life!
