With 80% of my school living in poverty, it is easy to understand the hardships my students face at such a young age. These hardships can hold students back from being able to develop a positive way of thinking. Often times, my students have already developed a fixed mindset by the time they enter first grade. In other words, they do not believe in themselves. They do not believe they can change or improve their intelligence or talents. As a teacher, I know the powerful influence I can have in a child's life, and I am here to change that way of thinking! With these Growth Mindset book collections, I can help students begin to believe they CAN learn, and they CAN improve. I will use these stories to illustrate that it is okay to make mistakes and take risks, that effort and perseverance matter more than the finished product, and to encourage students to accept challenges unafraid! When students believe they CAN, they WILL!
