With this class set of books, I will be able to read aloud to my class and have them follow along. While reading this book I will be able to teach reading standards while keeping my class engaged. This book teaches important life lessons and would be a great book to introduce at the beginning of the year. My plan is to start the new school year with a novel study. I believe that this will encourage my students to read, while also building a positive classroom community that is essential to the beginning of the year!
