When my students enter their classroom again after a long hiatus, I want them to feel welcome and safe. New seating options will help provide a comforting environment as soon as they enter the room. In addition to new seating, I want to provide the students with new engaging books. Having a diverse classroom library is one of the most powerful things I can do as an educator to help my students succeed. Providing a variety of reading options is crucial to engaging reluctant learners and creating lifelong readers. My students typically say they do not like reading. However, the more captivating books I have in my classroom library, the easier it is to help students find the book that changes their mind.
