In order for students to become successful readers they need to have a solid foundation in phonemic awareness, phonics and vocabulary. The Fundations program was designed to build the skill sets needed in these areas. Unfortunately my school was only able to purchase 5 student kits for my classroom. With 20 students in class and only 5 magnetic boards/tiles, it makes it difficult to teach the program the way it was intended to be taught. Providing each student with their own set of materials will give them the daily hands on practice needed to build their skill set and become successful readers. I want my students to have all the necessary tools to be successful not only in the classroom but in life. My students and I thank you for any help you are able to give.
