My students will be able to sit comfortably among their peers while reading a good book. They will be able to read independently, partner read, or group read using this couch. Often times a book is only as good as the spot you read it in and my students take this notion very seriously. One of our standard practices as a class is finding a reading spot and holding onto that spot like an old friend. My students will be transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn and that requires reading stamina. When they have a good place to read they are more likely to read for longer periods of time. These materials will help support them in that journey.
