Young children learn best when using their minds and body at the same time. Providing these manipulatives to use at home will only make their distance learning experience greater. I want to provide each of my students their own kit to keep at home and use when we meet virtually. Then we can work through problems together versus me just showing them the manipulatives on the video camera. I believe my students will take great joy in having a piece of their classroom at home with them when they cannot be in the building.
