In a day in age where millions of dollars are allocated to non-essential items, it has become overly apparent that the importance of balanced education is at the bottom of the financial priority list. Teachers spend thousands of dollars out-of-pocket on classroom supplies for students, who come from high-poverty households. With cost of living continuing to rise, but no raise included in that equation, it is getting harder and harder for teachers to help their students. My project is meant to provide each of my students with the necessary supplies at the start of the school year for literacy and writing. Such basic supplies as notebooks and pencils are sometimes impossible to acquire from each and every student. Having these at the ready means every student is prepared from DAY ONE! Our students need these supplies, such as: markers, notebooks, headphones, crayons, etc., to excel in the classroom.
