For years, my colleagues and I have been teaching a combined music and physical education unit on exercise drumming. In this unit, students learn exercise routines that incorporate rhythmic patterns which are drummed on flexibility balls. This unit is a favorite with our students, but we need durable nylon drumsticks to save our hands from splinters. We have been using rhythm sticks for the last several years, and they are beginning to break and splinter. They are currently covered in duct tape to try to save our students' hands! As you can imagine, this has become a distraction, and we are hoping to replace the sticks with something that will last! This is precisely why I would like to purchase some nylon drumsticks for my students to use in our unit.
