These books will help my students to learn to like if not love reading as much as I do. Some students don't have time to check out books from the school library or they may have fines that restrict their use of the school library. All the books that are in my classroom library the students help to organize and by doing this they take ownership and learn to take care of things more than they have in the past. The addition of these books to the classroom library will help all students to find the book that is just right for them. With my students in mind, I have selected a variety of books including graphic novels and series of books. Those two types of books are what is most requested in my classroom. So many students do not like reading because of a variety of reasons, but the reason that I hear the most is "the books are too long, boring and have too many words and not enough pictures". With the graphic novels that are being requested, I feel that I can reach more students and will be able to turn their non-love of reading into a love of reading.
