Flexible seating has many positive impacts on student engagement and movement within the classroom. I want my students to continue to flexible thinking by having flexible seating! Currently, my students have some options of flexible seating, such as: standing desks and sitting at a floor table, but I would like to offer more choices. On my list I have requested scoop chairs, perfect for the child who wants to sit at the carpet while learning. I have also requested balls for those who just need that extra wiggle time. Adding these flexible seating options can improve engagement, freedom in choice, and quality in work. Children always go above and beyond when there is a choice.
