The book sets that I am requesting will be used as soon as they arrive in the mail. The books will be placed into easy-to-access bins in my small classroom library. It is important to expose children to a variety of books, at a variety of reading levels. The first book set has Level A, non-fiction books in it. The greatest aspect of non-fiction books are that they are packed with pictures. Students at this level need more than words to help scaffold through the text. The second books set consists of award-winning Toon books. Toon books are up-scaled graphic comic books with striking incrustations and child-friendly story elements. This set would be targeted for reluctant readers, and students who more right-brained (creative, arts, etc.). The third set is an old favorite, Junie B. Jones. With this book set I can host a book club during our daily literacy rotations. I already have supplemental writing work for each book!
