Storyworks magazines from Scholastic will enhance the literacy rich classroom I strive to create for my students. The magazines captivate students with high quality fiction and nonfiction stories. They cannot wait to participate in their very own play using the Reader's Theatre script. As the magazines can be accessed online, students can listen to them while reading as well as complete some activities online, making them perfect for our current learning environment. My goal is to cultivate a class of avid readers, and scholastic magazines engage even the most reluctant reader! The magazine is full of illustrations, photos, maps and charts. Without even realizing it the students are learning all about nonfiction text features. The beauty of Storyworks is that students LOVE them and literally cheer when we get the new one.
