Hello! First off, thank you for taking the time to look at my project for my FIRST ever classroom. As a new teacher, I am now beginning to grow my classroom. With that being said, I would love to provide my class with a library that gives them the opportunity to grow as readers. I believe that when working with a young age it is important to make reading seem appealing.
I remember being a child once and LOVED reading in the library center. I remember being able to sit in special seating areas in the classroom and feeling unstoppable. I know, the children would love to able to sit in bean bag chairs as they escape in a book. To add to their comfort a textured rug would make them feel cozy in our Eric Carle themed library/room. When finished with their books they would have another learning opportunity by placing the book back on the bookshelf in the correct spot. By using the book organizers my kindergarteners would be able to put books back in alphabetical order or back in a specific theme of what the book was about, i.e. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Spring, Summer, etc.
Being a new teacher I want to be able to provide my children with as many opportunities to grow. Growing in literacy is one of the best ways a child can grow.
My kindergarteners and I thank you for anything you can give!! :)
