By the time a child gets to Fourth Grade, they are very aware of their surroundings. They know what places feel safe, inviting, and calm. For those escaping a hard home life, I want to help school be their safe place. The students that thrive on structure will have freedom to make wise choices within our clear guidelines and routines. I want to design a classroom where each student feels loved, confident, and comfortable. Providing a space where students feel safe and comfortable allows them to interact with their peers and encourage them to do their best. Flexible seating helps students stay engaged, increasing their participation and on-task time. Organization is key to keep the classroom running smoothly. The remaining items will help me make my home-like classroom a reality.
