I am requesting literacy practice tools, fluency games and comprehension journals. These resources will support my students to: RF.2.4b- Read on-level text orally with accuracy, appropriate rate, and expression on successive readings. RL.2.1: Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text. R.I 2.2 Identify the main topic of a multiparagraph text as well as the focus of specific paragraphs within the text. These crucial skills are necessary for students to address gaps from our previous COVID stricken year. The interactions and game formats will encourage participation and boost morale of a group with a vast range of needs. The ASCA National Standards state that students should display acceptable behaviors that improve social interactions, such as those between peers or between students and adults. The games allow for positive social interaction between peers with adult assistance readily available if needed. Finally, students will be able to write and support all writing development with lined paper and illustration spaces. (W2.1 and W2.2) This skill has suffered greatly since COVID and students need to work on physical dexterity in writing as well as writing structure, development, and mechanics.
