I have so many ideas for my classroom. One of my fondest memories of elementary school was reading groups! On my wishlist, I have classic books that I read in school, new books that 4th graders love, and a few read aloud books that I have been dying to read to students. Fostering a love for reading and learning is something I hope to achieve in my classroom. Reading is a skill that students will use for the rest of their lives. I have seen how finding a book or a series can resonate with and change a student that doesn't view themselves as a "reader." I want to make sure my classroom library has books of all different levels and have books that interest all of my students. If a student can find an author, a topic, or a series that they love, they will want to continue reading! I have already purchased a ton of non fiction texts for my class. Mainly I am trying to build up books for reading groups, class read alouds, and some books for my classroom library.
