The implementation of a classroom design has the ability to impact the learning environment. The ultimate goal is to design a classroom to have a positive and stimulating environment. One way to do this would be to look at three dimensions of a classroom: naturalness, stimulation, and individualization. These factors all work together to impact students' abilities to learn. Flexible seating aids in completing a portion of each of these dimensions. No two students learn the same way, by the way they think, focus, learn, and engage in lessons. Studies show that optimizing the use of flexible seating in primary classrooms help improve academic performance. By donating to this project, the students will have a choice in how they want to learn. Flexible seating gives the option to students to individualize their learning by giving them ownership in their seating choice. It also helps them understand what best stimulates them in the learning environment. My students will love having the ability to chose their own seating and it will help promote self-ownership and focus in the classroom!
