Please help me provide hands-on materials to optimize my students' learning during this pandemic crisis. My students miss their teacher and their classroom where we provide differentiated lessons and materials for their learning. My project is planned to provide materials necessary for distance learning for my young students. My class is made up of 21 students whose ages range from 3 to 6 years. They are eager to learn and are anxious because of the change in their learning environment. Their parents are stretched by demands from multiple children and, in some cases, work-from-home requirements. Young children need hands-on materials to help create learning experiences. These materials will benefit my students now during distance learning and in the future. They will provide stability, comfort and familiarity as they complete live lessons with me and practice on their own to extend their learning. My students need headphones that will facilitate the use of computers or iPads for distance learning. They also need tubs filled with hands-on materials that allow for differentiated learning. I can prepare some of these materials with the use of my printer and the purchase of laminating pouches and a coil binding machine and supplies. The materials will give my students and families the support they need to succeed at distance learning while staying safe and healthy.
