During the early years, reading sets up children to be successful. I believe reading orally not only helps children acquire language skills but it builds a child imagination and strengthens their cognitive abilities. Books are a fantastic way to bond with my class & teach important lifeskills. These books will teach my students important things like kindness, diversity, and friendship. As well as learning about feelings, manners, and being grateful. One of my favorites on the list is called Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun. This story celebrates diversity and having the courage to stand up against a bully. Reading to my class will will not only increase their attention span but provide them with a safe way to explore emotions.
