Students are in school a large portion of their day and spend most of their waking hours at school learning. Some of them come from homes that do not offer the same comfort that other students experience at their respective homes. I am looking to provide my students with a calming and comfortable place to learn. Having a rug to sit on at the front of the room, while working at the Smart Board, will give students a comfortable and cozy place to learn rather than sitting on a cold floor. I want to provide a room that will support the feeling of a safe place and one which is organized in a way that gives my students a feeling of security, since it oftentimes is the school classroom that serves as a second home for them. I have requested bulletin board materials and posters that continue the theme of our classroom being a second home for my students. Thank you for your consideration in helping provide a calm and secure learning environment.
