These books will allow my students to have books to read at their own reading level. Each book will be treated as the treasure that it is. They will have the opportunity to choose a book that interests them and is at their level. Often kids will find books that are interesting and fun to look at but when they can open a book and actually read it themselves their confidence and excitement grows. Research shows that increasing reading time is one of the most beneficial elements to learning to read. This will help me increase the independent reading time of my students.
