My requested books will be placed in my classroom library. All of these books have been chosen with my students' needs in mind. During our independent reading block students choose a book from the shelf to read. They must read it three times before they can take an Accelerated Reader test on that book. The selected books are all books that can be used on Accelerated Reader, and being able to have a book that my students can feel successful at is very important to me. The selected books will help them continue to enjoy independent reading as they continue to gain confidence in their reading skills. In addition, my students can take these books home in their book bag so they can read for 20 minutes each evening as part of their homework. The books are returned each morning and another reassigned as needed. I know my students will LOVE this new addition to our classroom library.
