After research and meeting with specialists on the population of students we will be supporting, one of our main takeaways is that these children need separate spaces in order to transition their minds for their academic subjects. In this classroom, we want to create an environment that supports their success. Because we will be meeting their academic needs in one classroom, we need to segment the space through zones. The horseshoe tables listed will be the main instructional areas for ELA and Math. Once a routine is established the students will know when they are sitting at the math table it is time to do math work and the same goes for the ELA space.
