I am an intervention specialist who works with struggling students. Many seem to lack motivation to better themselves academically. When presented with rewards using an earning system, students show self motivation and academic achievement. These rewards like squishy balls, fidget spinners, rubix cubes, bubble poppers, etc, also double as help for children with anxiety issues that have so drastically increased in recent times Win - Win! The motivation comes when students can earn a prize when they complete a new skill level in Math and/or Reading AND have shown the effort. They then earn a prize and their eyes glow on the box of trinkets. They always spot the next item they like in the rewards bucket and that starts the motivating cycle to earn the next reward.
