Each morning we split our 65 first graders into guided reading groups. My classroom serves 6 groups of 4-5 students each. We complete 3 -20 minutes rotations. Children love to listen to storybooks! One of my centers has always been a listening center but this year the equipment just wouldn't cooperate and is in need of replacing. Having a new set with 6 functioning headphones will be a great addition to our classroom. The students can work at their center without disturbing others. This set comes with both a tape and CD player. We will be able to play our old books on tape and have requested some new books on CD! This is something that will be put to special use every day of the year and will be used by all of the first grades at BES. Not only can we listen and read the books we then get to write details of what we read about.
