I have implemented a new teaching strategy - doing Algebra I with strictly whiteboards. While students are working on a problem, I walk around actively interacting, giving feedback, hitting mistakes early, and giving positive reinforcement every single problem. This allows me to have live data, spiral as necessary and adjust my instruction based on the students' needs. With this learning strategy, I do not have to wait until after homework is assigned to find out if they are struggling. This whiteboard paint will allow the students more space to work, jot down notes and helpful tricks, show work, and express themselves. With our current outdated boards, we have already increased our unit scores about 10% each assessment with this teaching strategy, but I feel with more space to work, we can show even more growth over the years. Please help give my students more space so we can write and grow more as mathematicians. I have gotten this pre-approved with my principal. Thank you!
