As adults, we are always given a choice. We get to choose what we wear each day, what kind of environment we want to work in, and what kind of job that we'd like to do. However, in our schools, we rarely give our students choices of how to learn. My students have a few choices already of different seating options, but I would love to give them more. My goal is to help my students be more comfortable by giving them a few more choices that they actually want to learn in. I want to give them options to use stools set up under a bar-type table or use a lap desk on a carpet square, or sit on a tractor bar stool at a standing desk. Kids crave options and choices just like we do. They need those options to learn more and grow each day. By giving them a few more different options, my students will grow more and be able to actually be comfortable in our classroom.
