The use of books during their therapy session will assist students in visualizing and understanding how to navigate their emotions during rough times. Counseling through books, children see themselves in the characters and then relate the context to themselves. Besides for reading the book and discussing it, children always have a follow up activity to make sure they can apply text to self connections. This will enhance each child's social emotional environment at home, in the classroom, and through life challenges ahead. Students will realize they are not alone, they share the feelings of others, and we are truly in this together!
