The Lego Star Wars/Droid Kit is a great beginning kit for students to learn hands on coding practice in a fun, tangible way. Middle School students are often still very concrete in their learning and having a hands on Lego Star Wars/Droid Kit will allow them to be more concrete in the way they learn how to code. Our GATE Program has students with a variety of learning styles but tactile is one of the strongest learning styles for this group. Since LEGO is one of the most accessible of all learning materials, students from 6th grade and up can begin their journey with robotics and coding. I have witnessed shy, timid students beaming when teaching others about their builds, and I have seen otherwise disengaged learners "come back" to the classroom with the small number of materials we currently have. Help us reach ALL learners! We also need some small supplies for students write down and organize their ideas.
