To build strong reading skills, it is best practice to allow students opportunities to hear themselves read. With these new headphones, students will be able to record themselves reading then listen to the recording. We can listen to the recording together during our reading conference and decide what strategies to focus on together. I have just finished my ESOL endorsement and this was also one of the strategies recommended to help these students learn the English language. I feel the headphones will also help the students focus and concentrate during their reading time.
