This requested Deluxe Butterfly Habitat kit allows students to observe an entire life cycle over several weeks. Observing the butterfly change increases their interest and understanding of how the natural world works when they are at home and in the community. It is better to observe the phenomenon than to just read about it in a book. Passionate about engaging every learner this life cycle kit intrigues the most reluctant learners because changes happen right before their eyes. They rush into the classroom to observe the natural changes. From larvae to caterpillars eating leaves, to the chrysalis and the anticipation of the butterfly transformation inspires more in-depth wonder. While the life cycle if progressing we will go outside to gather materials for the habitat. Students will be asked to bring questions and materials from their home environment. This series of lessons also inspires art connections as well as health and fitness goals. As I have grown with students, high schoolers report that this is one event from elementary that they remember so well.
