A laptop is a great tool for a number of reasons. Laptops are capable of offering enhanced e-books featuring images, video, and audio which are impossible to print with the current school set-up. It fosters online collaboration with other students. Laptops also help students keep track of their assignments and utilize an online school calendar allowing students to receive and view assignments online and submit their work via e-mail rather than being required to print them. And for us, teachers' laptops improve the review process of student work because we can edit student papers and return them digitally to provide more detailed feedback. And most of all, laptops help improve students’ computer skills, making learning more interesting for technology-savvy students. They are also thin and lightweight making them much easier to use. In addition to thousands of exciting apps available, MacBook laptops are fully compatible with online teaching and learning platforms. With the current situation, this will also allow me to go paperless and boardless in implementing distance learning. Online learning/instruction is new to me but we have to adapt as dictated by the current health situation. We recognize that with this arrangement, teachers and students have different abilities to cope up with distance learning. However, with this technology learning can still be fun and doable. Laptops made it easier for students to make notes on PDF documents, organize work, and work at their own pace. During the regular school year, we can always use our laptop for students to use whenever they forget their own computer at home.
