These materials are not typically found in your average library. These books will be put to use in my U.S. History class as hooks or sparks to gain students' interest. Most students nowadays hate reading textbooks and gain little to no true knowledge from the typical textbook reading assignment. These graphic novels will hopefully spark students' interest in past events helping them to make a personal connection to why history is so important to learn about. They need to understand where they've come from to better deal with where they're going in life.
