Kids are full of questions and are sponges....soaking everything in. My first graders live in a low income area, where all of my students get free lunch every day....most also take food home on the weekend. By having a document camera, I can make teaching come alive and available to a student who has poor eyesight. Observing a caterpillar under the camera, outer space on a website, or details in a book I want to share with the whole class. A document camera makes that possible when they wouldn't normally have that experience on their own.
